Just a querie to see if there is a reliable program that can send text messages via a PC application?

The reason is due to texting job information to contractors, clients, etc... in a faster approach than using the mobile phone directly as the information sent can be lengthy and time consuming on a mobile phone.

My previous Nokia phone had this option (ie - N95) but would rather something universal and without having to plug in phone via USB to use.

Any suggestions?

Its been years since i used skype, but didn't that have the option of sending texts from your computer?

I should ask the contractors at work what programs they use for the same purpose.

I know they exist, but haven't used one. I'll harass the server boys at work, they use a solution to notify them of server outages etc. Might be a corporate(read expensive) option tho

Thanks fellas..:)

Tried the program Dash linked (Thanks mate!) and works quite well. Got a free trial but will find out what costs are involved to use it.

It seems to use another mobile number, rather than my ow, so I'm assuming it's a monthly account kind of setup. Not entirely sure.

Would be nice to use my mobile (unless the one I trialled does) for ongoing messaging but will keep digging on this one to sure I have the right program for my needs.

I have a mobile usb dongle which I use to get internet at work. The software with it lets you send text messages from the pc. It is another monthly mobile account though. I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there though.

Yeah thats cause the mobile USB dongles, are essentially phone services, but with only data. I am up to my ears in the buggers at the moment. The company I am workign for is cost cutting, and one of the obvious areas was our mobile bill which was consistently over $200 grand each month. We have got it down to $100-$120 grand just by cutting the majority of the data cards.

Teh odd $50 000 dollar international charge doesn't help tho... :o fucking telcos
