Thanks guys! Sorry I got a bit excited about the OCAU thing haha :)

Now to figure out what to make with it!

I'm thinking a rubber band gun like this for a Christmas gift to my brother in law!

That's a bloody giant feat with sucess mate! It doesn't suprise me that you got some well deserved attention for your efforts.... :D

You really have a knack for it and put my engineering skills to shame.

Haha thank you. The Blackfoot? I really wouldn't suggest that machine. I mean yeah it is cheap but the roller chain really isn't accurate enough. I was first looking at making a machine with ply and using the V bearings on the aluminium but really I thought to myself that the aluminium is going to have to be changed very often riding on the steel V bearings. Also I did a lot of reading on similar machines and people are just saying that there is just too much flex in the whole thing and really leaves the cuts with some inaccuracies.

A really whorthwhile machine to make or buy would be one of the CNC Router parts machines:

http://www.cncrouterparts.com/crp4896-4 ... p-139.html

Yes there is a full 1k between them in price but really I think it is well worth it. It's made of aluminium and steel (the smae type of aluminium I used) and uses cold rolled steel plates as the linear rails with custom bearing slides. Plus there are a heap of people on CNCzone with the machines that are really satisfied with it!

Just look for the people with the CRP of something like that in the thread title.

Just my 2c though.

Just adds insult to injury or so to speak. In a good way I mean...

Will be intersting to see how much more attention it gathers. Google your name later next week. Should be a few pages more I reckon.
