As some of you would have noticed I'm doing a reboot of my beloved digital pinball. Was kicking myself that I moved it on when I did but thankfully I didn't have to start from scratch and this time around I'm using much better hardware.
PC specs are now:
Asrock Extreme motherboard
12GB DDR3 RAM
GTX670 (playfield and back glass screens)
750 watt PSU
That far exceeds the original PC I had in there which was an AMD setup and the CPU caused a couple of slowdowns.
Also bought a new playfield monitor as the one I had was sold. Picked up a Soniq 40" for $345 and decased it's a great fit. It doesn't appear to have a last state function which could mean me having to flick the switch which will be just inside the coin door. No biggie if I have to, it can be a pseudo kill switch
Also need to source another coin door which is poo but I have my eye on one on ebay - despite the guy selling sounding like a bit of a dick. I'll have to beg Heath to do me another plaque! Happy to pay Heath, don't want to get you in trouble!
Tonight I do the wiring for the buttons then I think that's pretty much all the hardware stuff done so I can clean the glass and fix things into place after a test. Then it's onto the software again! I think I'll be right though, I'm sure it will come back to me - and I saved all the tables and artwork from before so all the naming hullabaloo are good to go. Debating whether to try things under Windows 8.1 or nuke it and install 7...
Anyway, here are a few pics, nothing that new but pics are good.
