He might be able to do an etched header board similar to the Scottos World logo he did for you last year, would look mint with some coloured lights like Xmas lights flashing behind it!

You know I have a string of Christmas lights I've giving the shifty eyes to wondering where I could incorporate them.

Maybe a couple of tall rectangles to run down the front either side with the lights behind. Would need to be frosted or opaque I guess, but I suppose some pattern could be etched into them. My biggest problem is how to rout shapes like that in the wood, naturally I'd need guides but it's still a daunting prospect.

I was giving serious consideration to putting a mini disco ball in there but alas, I think there won't be enough room for this one. I used to have one inside my PC years ago lol.

Round 2.

Made some more progress today, got the access door sorted out as well as a second skin which was a challenge of epic proportions. Imagine trying to get an uncooperative piece of MDF to wrap around the whole outside and securing it with no screws, on PVA and clamps. I really should have filmed it, it would have been quite a laugh.

Anyway, now that's on and all clamped up it's waiting time. Once it's dried I will flush trim the edges, attach the base then start bogging up.

I also replaced all the screws on the front and back with bigger ones and counter sunk them all. One of the photos shows the speaker grills in place and what will be the new volume knob.

Pics!!

Thanks Dlude!

Speaker grills are from Jaycar, big one cost about $10 and the smaller ones are a few bucks each. They're the same ones as the fan grills on the upright but with this one I will either glue them on or use some small screws through the rim.

Wifey really likes this and wants me to build a couple more and then set up a stall at the markets with the cocktail machine there as well.

Might have a chat to the plastics place and the local cut to size place for some quotes on getting the basics done there.
