Well Danny let me know when you have prices as I think the laminex will look the best on the outside by far. In the meantime I suppose I should think about what colour to do it, thinking black fascia with colour outside.

Lol, I think it's called impatience haha.

I have to say though, my new favourite tool is my table saw! Does the big long cuts in seconds and cuts like a hot knife through butter. Not one to use without 1000000% concentration though, that blade is dangerous!

Magic work Scott.

Is the top just thin MDF bent to fit? What sort of dock are you running in it?

Cheers begee!

Yeh the top is 3mm MDF, was thinking about melamine but I reckon it could snap. Ply probably would have been the best bet bit Bunnings didn't have any suitable. This works though and with a layer of laminate on top it should be sweet. The bend is about as far as it can go, any further and there would be cracks.

As for the dock, Danny mentioned some but they were more suited to car head units, I've seen some docks that plug in via RCA so I'm hoping there is maybe one that will terminate to a 3.5mm jack. Otherwise I can whip something up. I have some spare dock cradles which I'm planning on gluing to the connector so it (the iphone) can just plop into it.

I'm going to have some opaque perspex up to top and I'm throwing some ideas around altough ultimately I may have to get something printed to suit so backlighting would be effective.

Next step is to flush trim the overhangs and look at mounting the volume knob on the front. Oh and cutting an access panel on the back so I can attach the base.

Edit: This connector attached to a cradle fixed in the juke box.

Lol, yes she is. She commented she thought I was just building a small box to carry the speakers in to which I replied, "You should know me by now, I'm like Tim the Tool Man Taylor so it'll never be just a box!

Found a better cable too, one that also has a USB connector which I can plug into the power adaptor and then into the power board meaning the phone will charge as it plays. Only $1 each so I bought all 3 he was selling.

I'm thinking along these lines for the marquee for the Juke. Printed on perspex with a backlight of course!

rofl Soda!

Thinking of making the area where the ipod sits out of perspex for a nicer finish, maybe even with a tapered front so it goes down flush with the face.
Perspex place to give me a quote.

Something like this... Then the connector I found (a better one than the cable) will be attached and will look nice and professional.
