Awesome stuff Frosty!

My work is definitely cut out for me now....

That second link has some good info on the history and great pics to boot, which I'm saving for reference. The comments made in there are valuable information also. I'm thinking reddish brown and tan bricks for the most part, with a host of hard to find parts creating those domes and arches.

I'm pumped to get some planning done on how best to construct this thing. Will be a year long project for sure!

Whilst I'm at it, might try my hand at making a few of the old trams and a bucket load of minifigs for pedestrian traffic...

@ Danny....ROFLMAO....

I thought about them too Krudd's. Maybe I should build them too hey...

That model just set me back another 1.5k.....god damn it! I blame you but in a good way though...:)

Happen to be going right past the Queen Vic markets tommorrow morning on my way to West Melb. A few happy snaps would do justice as a preliminary.

Without a doubt!

I'll say hello to your Dad too, if I knew what to look for? 1.21 gigawatts placarded on his back prehaps?

The colours and decor are much to my liking also, as too is Flinder's Street Station. Have to figure if tan bricks are the go as yellow is too awkward of a colour to use in my opinion, especially if this model is to look half authentic. I think the only dilemma is whether I use reddish brown or dark red for the trims?

I figured that if I buy a few Emerald Nights, I should have the basis for my trams I would think.... :? I reckon 3 or 4 trams should do it and scale the building to suit them.

P.S. - Frosty....Help! More history on trams and Flinders Street if you stumble on them.... That last one you linked was fantastic!

Well, almost done with sourcing parts on Chrysler building. About 50 pieces left to go and $700.00 poorer. Some really hard to find pieces in this build and the main reason it has cost a bit more than Empire build. I'll confess that some purchases were bulking up an order for future builds on some rarer parts as some BL sellers only had one part I was after and seemed silly going to checkout with only $2.00 spent. Bulked up on a few tan and Brown Bricks as well as a few others for some Mindstorm projects.

I'll go through some more listings tommorrow night and hopefully finalise the last of the pieces which to date has been a headache and a half with about 10% of this build compiled of second hand parts (Seems Light Grey is bloody hard to find new).

Building should start in the next week or so if things go as planned. Wonder if I can spill wine on it again for old times sake....lol
